The Great Sports Coaster

The White Sox Blogger Roundtable I posted yesterday was quite the long and involved read, so I left off posting anything else yesterday. And I was away from the computer for much of yesterday too. So I was unable to get to the Links of the Week feature I normally post on Thursdays. The week has been a little nutty with the Bears losing, two football teams falling from the ranks of the undefeated in college (since the last Sports Coaster post), the Bulls showing their growing pains and my softball season finally coming to a close for 2006. We've had record days here at Fleece & Flog for posts in a day, and now we'd like to once again share with you some of our favorite reads from the past week.

Onto the links--------------------------------------

  1. Fornelli over at Foul Balls and I are in agreement that the Bears loss, while disappointing, wasn't as detrimental to people's health as certain contrarians would have you believe. (Foul Balls)
  2. After a short hiatus due to health issues unknown Column is back up and running full steam. And here's his ultra-quick look at the local college basketball teams. (Unknown Column)
  3. Where would we be without the columnist watchdog that is Jay the Joke? Here the Joke notes how quick the douchebag jumps off the Bears' bandwagon. We don't need him there anyways. (Jay the Joke)
  4. Matt at Blog-a-Bull is another fan of Thabo Sefolosha and even gives him a nickname. (Blog-a-Bull)
  5. WCG and many of the SB Nation writers gave out their NFL mid-season awards. (Windy City Gridiron)
  6. Jeeves has some input on the Freddy Garcia to the Mets rumors. (ChiSox Blog)
  7. If Darryl Strawberry is getting paid to tell these stories, where do I sign up? (Deadspin)
  8. Would anyone actually buy something that looked like this? Not even the Queer Eye guys would find this remotely appealing. (With Leather)
  9. I read SI.com all the time. I guess I'm the only one. (The Big Lead)
  10. Bethlehem Shoals and FreeDarko.com are fast becoming one of the best reads on the interweb thingy. Here he tells us what Bulls fans already knew about Jalen Rose. (FreeDarko)
  11. This is by far the most indepth Illini basketball preview I've read. (Big Ten Wonk)
  12. And your non-sports post of the week comes from Frank the Tank. He delivers his personal state of political affairs after Tuesday's elections, and I've never seen a more readable piece concerning libertarian or moderates ever. (Frank the Tank's Slant)
Interesting times in an interesting week. And remember what Gary Gnu always says, "No gnus is good gnews!"

Fucktard did a little more than jump off the Bears bandwagon but also exposed Himself as a racist bastard.
